At the Tsukino home, Usagi, Minako, Luna, and Artemis watch a pair of figure skaters on television. Usagi is quite impressed, and Minako tells her, "You can tell why Janelyn and Misha are Olympic gold medalists." Usagi stands up and attempts to twirl around like the skaters, but she immediately falls.

Artemis says to Luna that if she likes figure skating, perhaps she is becoming more aware of herself as the princess. Luna says that figure skating was the most popular sport in the Moon Kingdom, and Artemis agrees, saying that the princess's skating was especially beautiful. Usagi is glad that she was gifted with a lot of talent!

In the Dark Kingdom's lair, Kunzite also watches the two figure skaters and formulates a new plan. He tells Queen Beryl that if he uses the most popular sport from the Moon Kingdom, then perhaps he can lure Sailor Moon out and take the Ginzuishou from her.

Endymion soon appears behind him and asks if he is really going to stake his honor on this "makeshift trap." He says that if Kunzite is a proud warrior, then he should attack his enemy head-on. Kunzite angrily tells him that a battle is meaningless without a victory, and says that if Endymion had not already interfered with his other plans, he would already have the Ginzuishou. Queen Beryl tells them to stop arguing, and instructs Kunzite to set his plan in motion immediately.

Meanwhile, the figure skaters are practicing. When the female, Janelyn, jumps into her partner Misha's arms, she falls to the ice. They both blame each other's mistakes for the fall. Misha says that they should stop practicing for the day. He then says that if the terrible practice sessions continue, he is going to look for a new partner.

Kunzite suddenly appears before them and says that he cannot allow them to break up because they have been given a mission to work for the Dark Kingdom.

Later, Usagi, Minako, Rei, Ami, and Makoto visit the Juuban Ice Arena, where dozens of other girls are waiting outside. Usagi says that it is new, and to commemorate its opening, the Olympic gold medalists Janelyn and Misha are going to coach young girls. Rei says she can't understand why she had to come, too. Ami, who is attempting to study, says that she has a national mock exam to take tomorrow so she needs to be at home studying! Minako tells them that only groups of five girls can get in free.

Rei asks why only groups of five girls can get in. Minako says, "Something suspicious? It makes you want to check it out, doesn't it? It's one of those 'ask and you shall be answered' kind of things!" Ami reminds her that the correct phrase is, "Ask and you shall receive." Usagi pushes her friends into the arena.

The girls go inside and get dressed in skating outfits. There are dozens of other young girls inside. As Usagi is attempting to put on her skates, she falls and begins to cry! Her friends are embarrassed.

Suddenly, Janelyn and Misha emerge onto the ice and begin skating. All of the girls in the arena are impressed, and many of them find Misha to be quite attractive. Makoto dreamily thinks that he looks very familiar.

The pair stop skating. Janelyn welcomes everyone and tells them that no matter what they are doing, the basics are the most important. The first step is getting familiar with the ice. She sees Usagi's group and says that since they are so energetic, they can come out onto the ice first.

All of the girls step onto the ice except for Usagi, who is scared and holding onto the railing. Makoto asks if this is her first time skating, and Usagi tells her not to worry because she was an expert in the Moon Kingdom. When Makoto goes onto the ice, it becomes clear that she is very good at skating. Her friends are quite impressed! Usagi is inspired by Makoto's skill, and bravely steps onto the ice for her "brilliant debut." Of course, she immediately falls down.

Makoto continues skating beautifully. Artemis and Luna look on. Artemis says that he remembers that Sailor Jupiter was also an expert skater in the Moon Kingdom, considered to be as good as the princess. When she stops, everyone applauds. Janelyn announces that everyone can skate now. Usagi's friends try to help her, but she only causes all of them to fall as well!

Misha and Janelyn took note of Makoto's skill, although it is obvious that they are still very angry with each other. Janelyn goes to a special control panel above the skating rink where she uses an elaborate computer system to monitor the skaters. She compares video of each skater to the Dark Kingdom's data on the Sailor Senshi.

Kunzite suddenly appears on the screen and reminds her that she is to find Sailor Moon based on her athletic abilities and agility. He asks if it will work, and she says that she thinks it will because of her flawless judgment as an Olympic gold medalist. He reminds her that she has never actually met the Sailor Senshi, so she should not let her guard down.

He disappears, and she goes back to work. Her screen focuses on Usagi, who is still attempting to stand up. She says to herself, "Sailor Moon is known to be a superb warrior. They say has a clumsy side, but this is out of the question!" She rules Usagi out as a candidate.

Soon, she sees Misha on her screen. He is talking with Makoto, asking her to skate with him. Rei says that she is free as well, but he just ignores her and takes Makoto's hand. She finds him to be extremely handsome, and thinks to herself that he looks just like her sempai at her old school. He thinks that she may be Sailor Moon.

When Misha attempts to lift Makoto, he fails. She apologizes for being very heavy, and instead, she lifts him over her head! All of the other skaters are impressed, and Ami even says that it is a technique no one in the world has mastered yet.

Back in the control room, Janelyn is extremely jealous and upset. She wonders if Misha was serious about breaking up. She announces over the intercom that the day's free lesson is over, so all of the skaters should leave the rink and go home. Makoto tells Misha that she needs to go home, but he grabs her hand and tells her to stay, saying that she is the best partner for him in the world.

[Commercial Break]

Everyone leaves the skating rink. Ami, Minako, and Rei walk outside alone and tell Luna and Artemis that Makoto stayed behind because she was receiving a special lesson from Misha. Usagi was just with them, but they apparently accidentally left her behind in the ice rink. Suddenly, the doors to the arena slam closed. Ami wonders if this could be another Dark Kingdom trap.

Inside the arena, Usagi sneaks down a hallway, hoping to get the skaters to give her a private lesson as well.

In the control room, Janelyn angrily watches Makoto skate with Misha. She becomes so enraged that she slams her fist through one of the television screens in front of her! When she opens the door to go back to the rink, she hits Usagi right in the face without even realizing it. Usagi recovers and stands up, then looks inside the control room. She sees a television screen which appears to be analyzing whether or not Makoto is Sailor Moon, and she quickly realizes that this is a trap. She runs out of the room just as the computer behind her explodes.

Meanwhile, Makoto is still skating with Misha. He says that she must have had some figure skating experience, and he asks her to tell him the truth. Janelyn storms onto the ice and demands to know if it is really over between her and Misha. She says that she would rather kill him than give him up to an amateur.

Janelyn turns into a youma, and Makoto tells Misha to run. Instead, he turns to his partner and insists that he was just trying to find out if Makoto was Sailor Moon. He says that although Makoto's technique is first class, an ice skating pair cannot be based on that alone. Janelyn still doesn't believe him. She uses a physical attack which she calls Triple Axel Kick to separate the pair. She then softly asks Misha to come with her. He agrees that they are the greatest skating pair, then touches her hand. When he touches her, he transforms into a youma as well.

They declare themselves to be the Zoyrin Geller, and tell Makoto that now that she has seen them, they cannot let her return alive. They leap into the air and use a physical attack called Combination Jump Attack to badly injure Makoto.

Usagi sees what is happening and she quickly transforms into Sailor Moon. Just as the pair moved to use their "finishing attack" on Makoto, Sailor Moon appeared and confronted them for hurting an innocent girl. The youma tell her that they have been waiting for her, and that the Ginzuishou will soon be theirs.

Sailor Moon leaps onto the ice, and when she does, ice skating blades appear on the bottom of her boots. Unfortunately, as soon as she hits the ice, she falls. She is suprised that she cannot skate even when she is transformed. A large blade appears on Janelyn's arm, and the pair uses an attack called Death Spiral.

Fortunately, Endymion arrives and pushes Sailor Moon away from the attack, skating away with her. She tells him how happy she is that he rescued her, but he tells her not to misunderstand. He says that he just did not like the "underhanded method" of Janelyn and Misha, which has dragged an innocent girl (Makoto) into the matter. He warns her that after he has gotten the youma under control, he will return for the Ginzuishou.

Janelyn and Misha skate towards him and tell him that his help is not necessary at this time. They warn that they will not hold back, even for him. He asks if they really believe they could win a fight against him, and Sailor Moon says that it would probably be best not to taunt them.

Janelyn and Misha attack again with an attack called Double Spin Kick. Endymion tells Sailor Moon to jump before flinging her into the air. She spins several times and lands on one foot. She doesn't immediately fall, so she becomes very excited that she is actually skating.

The youma come after her, and Endymion tells her to jump again. She is afraid to try, but she eventually does it and manages to dodge their attack. She lands very well again and becomes even more excited. Endymion even tells her that it was a nice jump. Unfortunately, Janelyn and Misha attack again with Sit Spin Kick, this time injuring both Sailor Moon and Endymion.

Sailor Jupiter suddenly appears and attacks the youma with Supreme Thunder. They are very badly injured. The other three Sailor Senshi soon appear on the scene, and as soon as they arrive, Kunzite appears floating above them. He laughs and tells Endymion that he pities him, saying that if he had not interfered, none of this would have happened.

Kunzite causes an enormous sphere in the ceiling to begin glowing red, which causes the vents to come on and blow freezing air towards the skating rink. Everything becomes encrusted in ice. Kunzite tells them, "This is the icy hell of absolute zero temperature. Once you have all turned into ice figures, I will return and take my sweet time getting the Ginzuishou!" He then disappears, but everyone is freezing, including Endymion and the youma.

Endymion thinks quickly and throws his cane at the glowing sphere. When it hits, the sphere stops glowing and explodes, causing the cold air to stop. Sailor Moon quickly uses Moon Healing Escalation to case Misha and Janelyn to transform back into their human forms. Meanwhile, Endymion mysteriously disappears.

Later that night, Makoto tells her friends that her feelings have not been hurt, and that she won't let anything that happened today bother her. A completely random guy walks by and she falls for him instantly. She tells everyone that the shape of his nose is just like that of her sempai at her old school who broke her heart!
