EPISODE 036 - MITSUAMI


click for larger version Mitsuami was a powerful youma who appeared in episode 036. Kunzite was attempting to find out Sailor Moon's true identity, as well as obtaining the Ginzuishou. During one of his previous battles with the Sailor Senshi, he managed to take a hair from Sailor Moon. As part of his plan to find Sailor Moon, he brainwashed the hair dresser Kariko Tokoyama and all of the attendants in her salon, then used the hair steamers in her shop to match the DNA of customers' hair to that of Sailor Moon. After one of the steamers mistakenly identified Minako as Sailor Moon (one of Usagi's hairs had accidentally gotten into Minako's), Kariko and the attendants combined to form the youma Mitsuami. As Mitsuami demanded that Minako give up the Ginzuishou, Usagi snuck away and transformed into Sailor Moon, much to the youma's confusion. Mitsuami then began to attack Sailor Moon with blasts of hot air from her arm, which was shaped like a large hair dryer. After Sailor Moon managed to dodge that attack, she began flinging scissors at her opponent. Sailor Moon leapt away and threw a powder compact at Mitsuami, temporarily her. She then confronted the youma with her Moon Stick and began to use Moon Healing Escalation... but was stopped mid-attack by a rose which flew through the air and knocked the Moon Stick from her hand. Tuxedo Kamen apeared, but soon announced that he was now Endymion, a commander for the Dark Kingdom. He then demanded that Sailor Moon hand over the Ginzuishou. Mitsuami suddenly attacked Sailor Moon again, this time with a large razor coming from her arm. Sailor Moon dodged it once again, and Endymion instructed the youma to take the Ginzuishou from Sailor Moon. She ran through a nearby door, and Mitsuami followed, crashing through the wall.

Luckily, Minako soon recovered and transformed into Sailor Venus, then summoned the other Sailor Senshi. Under the direction of Endymion, Mitsuami continued attacking Sailor Moon until the Sailor Senshi arrived and confronted her. Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter used a combined Fire Soul/Supreme Thunder attack to injure Mitsuami, and Sailor Mercury used Sabão Spray to confuse her and obstruct her vision. Once she was thoroughly incapacitated, Sailor Moon used Moon Healing Escalation to heal the youma, causing her to transform back into Kariko and the other salon attendants.

Mitsuami's seiyuu was Chiharu Kataishi.
