She was created by Professor Tomoe especially for Eudial after she located an athlete with a pure heart: the talented young sprinter and hurdler Elza Gray. Hurdler was the product of the fusion of a daimon egg with a hurdle, and her purpose, like all of Eudial's daimons, was not to extract Heart Crystals from humans, but rather to serve as a bodyguard and living weapon for Eudial. After Eudial extracted Elza Gray's Heart Crystal, she summoned the daimon to battle with the Inner Senshi. When attacked by Sailor Venus's Venus Love Me Chain, she successfully managed to jump over it and tie the senshi up, though the girls were soon freed by Sailor Neptune. The daimon even managed to outdistance Sailor Mars's Burning Mandala attack, but Sailor Uranus was finally able to catch up with the sprinting daimon and restrain her long enough for Sailor Neptune to stun her with Deep Submerge. This gave Sailor Moon just the time she needed to destroy Hurdler with Moon Spiral Heart Attack. Hurdler had a wide variety of her own attacks that she could use, including Hurdle Kick, which allowed her to outrun or leap over attack directed at her, and Hurdle Line, in which she used a chalk wagon to form a stream of chalk that solidified, capable of tying up her opponents. Hurdler had blue eyes, purple hair, and pink skin. Her seiyuu was Hiroko Emori.
