EPISODE 006 - CYRENE:


click for larger version Cyrene is a female youma controlled by Jadeite in episode 006 to help him gather energy from human beings in order to revive Queen Metallia. Cyrene was given a special audio cassette that contained subliminal sound waves that would drain energy from humans, and was sent to Jam Records to replace a master tape in the recording studio with it. Unfortunately, the head of the company's recording team, Akiko Yanagi, interrupted her, and Cyrene was forced to hide lest she be discovered. However, Akiko took the bad cassette, mistaking it for one of jazz pianist Yusuke Amade's demo tapes, and the angry youma became intent on killing the woman to recover the tape. But once again, her plans were foiled by a Jam Records staff member; this one had come by to tell Akiko that Yusuke had arrived and was awaiting her in the lobby of the building. The youma, still in hiding, followed Akiko and saw her pass the tape to Yusuke. She attempted to attack the artist in an abandoned alley to retrieve it, but he managed to escape before she could act. Cyrene reported to Jadeite that she had failed her mission, and he replied that her life would soon be over unless she recovered the tape. In danger of losing her life, she attacked Yusuke in a parking garage and actually took the cassette back, and just when she click for larger version was about to kill the performing artist, Usagi Tsukino made her appearance. The youma fled the scene and returned to the recording company's studio to complete her original mission. She was once again interrupted, this time by the arrival of Usagi, Luna, and Yusuke. In exhcange for the audio tape, Cyrene took Akiko hostage, but the woman was rescued by Yusuke, who injured himself in the process. After Luna destroyed the tape, the youma was forced to flee once again. When she arrived in an abandoned stadium, she was quickly confronted by Sailor Moon. The Sailor Soldier was blasted with sound waves from her opponent's outstretched wings, and may have been defeated had she not thought to toss a microphone into the sound waves, blasting Cyrene with her own attack through an amplifier. The youma was incapacitated by this, and was subsequently destroyed by Sailor Moon's "Moon Tiara Action."

In her human form, Cyrene had long, wavy red hair and small eyes. She wore a purple dress and black leggings. As a youma, Cyrene had light pink eyes, red hair, and green skin. She ears and wings of a bat, and her arms were somewhat bat-like. Her powers included the use of razor sharp, expandable claws and the ability to transport herself by either teleportation or turning herself into a swarm of bats flying towards her destination. Her seiyuu was Emi Shinohara.
