EPISODE 002 - BALM:


click for larger version Balm is a female youma under the control of Jadeite in episode 002 to help him gather energy from humans in order to revive Queen Metallia. To gather energy, Balm assumed human form annd opened the House of Fortune, where she posed as a soothsayer specializing in tarot cards. By looking young customers in the eye, she hypnotized them and planted a special tarot card called the Devil card on their person, which caused them to lose all their inhibitions and act in a disruptive manner without conscience. This resulted in the generation of huge amounts of "energy of rebellious youth," which Balm collected with her special master card. As a result of the card's influence on them, the victims turned into green-skinned zombies under Balm's control - but this depended on the youma's concentration. Summoning all her victims to the House of Fortune, Balm planned to let the army of teens run rampant through the city, but was interrupted by Sailor Moon, who had correctly guessed the youma's base of operations after seeing Gurio Umino and several other classmates acting click for larger version strangely after visiting the establishment. Balm revealed her true form and sent her minions after Sailor Moon, but was distracted by one of Tuxedo Kaman's roses hitting her in the face, disrupting her mental hold over the zombies before they could harm the Sailor Soldier. After this interruption, Balm tried to finish her opponent off alone, but was destroyed by Moon Tiara Action. Aside from her power over her victims, Balm could also control many small objects, just as her tarot cards, and her huge mass of black hair could form clawlike hands. She even threw her tarot cards as weapons.

In human form, Balm has green eyes with a pronounced slant and long black hair. In youma form, she has yellow eyes, green skin, and unruly black hair. In both forms, she wears a flowing lavendar dress that reveals her shoulders. Balm's seiyuu is Hiroko Emori.
