Jadeite is the first of the Dark Kingdom's Shitennou to appear in the first season. He works under the direction of Beryl. He first appears in episode 001. During the Silver Millenium, Queen Beryl recruited him and the other three Shitennou to become generals in her army. After their defeat in the Silver Millenium, he was reborn in the present day along with other members of the Dark Kingdom. His mission is to gather energy from the humans on Earth for the Dark Kingdom, in order to fully reawaken Queen Metallia. His method of gathering energy is to lure people into buying magic items or to gather people in large groups to drain their energy. To this end, he was a master of disguise: depending on the plot, he would take on a new identity. His many disguises included a radio host (episode 003), a personal trainer at a gym (episode 004), an MC for Cinderella Caravan (episode 007), a shrine worker (episode 010), a security guard (episode 011), and the captain of a ship (episode 012). He would then call upon a youma to help in his task. Queen Beryl eventually became frustrated with him after he repeatedly failed to gather substantial amounts of energy for the Dark Kingdom. In episode 013, Jadeite makes his final, desperate attempt to defeat the three senshi who had been awakened at that point (Sailor Moon, Mars, and Mercury). He challenged the three to a battle at Haneda Airport, and they accepted. When they arrived, they transformed in front of him, giving away their identities in the process. The senshi managed to defeat Jadeite with teamwork: Sailor Moon acted as a decoy, Sailor Mercry filled the runway with fog to disorient him, and Sailor Mars threw an ofuda at him. Queen Beryl was so angry at his defeat that she froze him in crystal, punishing him with Eternal Sleep. He was never given the opportunity to share his knowledge of the senshi's identities.

MANGA

Jadeite is the first of the Dark Kingdom's Shitennou to appear in the manga. He appears in Volume 1, Act 1, but is not named until Act 2, when he calls himself the commander of the Far East. His first plot is to have a youma pose as Naru Osaka's mother at the Jewelry Osa-P store selling jewelry which drains its wearers of their energy. When this first plot fails, he moves on to his second plot, where he sets up a cram school attended by Ami Mizuno called Crystal Seminar, where students are drained of their energy. After this, too, fails, his final plot, in Act 3, is to trap the senshi on a bus. He kidnaps students riding the 6:00 bus (#666) from Sendai Hill, which is near the Hikawa Jinja Shrine. He manages to hypnotize Rei into boarding the bus, and takes the bus to another dimension. Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury confront him, and Sailo Moon uses her Moon Frisbee to prevent him from moving. He can still, however, use powers stemming from his vision, and attacks both senshi. Sailor Mercury, prompted by Luna, throws a transformation pen at Rei, who immediately transforms into Sailor Mars and attacks him with one of her anti-evil scrolls. Nephrite preserves his skeleton in a glass coffin and vows to bring him back to life, which he temporarily doeswhen Princess Serenity is found. Unfortunately, he and the other shitennou were immediately turned into precious stones afterwards. In the Materials collection, it is stated that Jadeite is about the same height as Zoisite, and his estimated age is 18. During the Silver Millenium, Jadeite and the other Shitennou originally were not evil - they served under Prince Endymion as his guardians and advisors. They were, however, tempted by the power of the Dark Kingdom (like most other humans), and fell to it. They eventually become good again, and advise Mamoru when he needs their help.

PRETTY GUARDIAN SAILOR MOON

Jadeite is the first Shitennou to appear. He works under Queen Beryl, and is constantly battling the other Shitennou to win her affection and approval. He works to gather energy for the dark kingdom by sending youma to steal energy from people. In Act 09, Queen Beryl turned him into a jadeite stone. In Act 16, he was resurrected by Queen Metallia. Jadeite is played by Jun Masuo.
