Mikan Shiratori

Mikan Shiratori was a young Japanese idol who first appeared in episode 007 (Usagi hansei! Star no michiha kibishii). She was first seen on a poster ad in the window of a pharmacy when Usagi was running to school. In the ad, she was seen practicing rhythmic gymnastics, promoting a product called Genkirin by a company called Kekkou Medicines. The poster said, "Mikan's recommendation for anyone tired!" Later, Umino came to school with the same poster, which he said he bought on the internet. Umino found some data about Mikan on his computer, which he gaves to Usagi and Naru. He told them that Mikan was from Juuban Junior High, that she was 17 years old, that she had already been in eight commercials, and that her monthly income wa 2,000,000 yen. Another classmate mentioned that Mikan was actually scouted while simply walking in town. The first time the star was actually seen in the episode, she was signing autographs outside of the TV Ashita building. A poster on the building advertised a "new spring show" on channel 9 called "Jan, Ken, Pon" ("Rock, Paper, Scissors"). Jadeite saw the autograph signing, and decided that he could use the energy of all the fans. Later, while Mikan was in her apartment showering, the youma Derella attacked her and incapacitated her using an icy blue substance which knocked her unconcious. The youma touched her and instantly assumed her likeness. Derella, who now looked exactly like Mikan Shiratori, hosted a talent search with Jadeite called Cinderella Caravan, which was actually a plot to steal energy from the numerous contestants. Eventually, Sailor Moon destroyed Derella with her Moon Tiara Action attack. Mikan awoke in her apartment without knowing what had happened.

Mikan Shiratori's next (and final) appearance was in episode 048. Naru, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako were asked to audition for the role of Mikan's younger sister in a new television drama. They all went to the TV Ashita station, but were attacked by An and Al's cardian Minotauron. An was desperately in need of energy, so she left to steal some from the first person she came across. She just happened to come upon the dressing room of Mikan (Dressing Room No. 3), went in, and drained the young idol's energy. Later, the Cardian was defeated by the Senshi and Minako explained that the television drama was cancelled because Mikan collapsed from exhaustion.

Mikan Shiratori's seiyuu was Mika Kanai.
