click for larger version In the anime, Kyusuke Sarashina is one of ChibiUsa's classmates. He has green spiky hair. He appears first in episode 135, and has minor roles in episodes 135, 143, and 154. In episode 155, he appears again, this time as JunJun's target. He is quite an athlete, and is at an athletic meet. JunJun watches from atop the school as Kyusuke is about to attempt the box horse. He remembers a time when he tried it before, but fell and slammed into it. He wonders what his classmates would say if he was unable to do the box horse, but decides that in order to be an all-around athlete, he must be able to do anything. He runs for it, but stops at the last moment. JunJun sees him, and tells him that she will help him learn it. Each time he tries, he gets scared at the last moment and tries to stop, causing him to fall into the box horse. JunJun tells him that in order to overcome his fear, he needs to be afraid of something a lot scarier. She creates an illusion of a bear chasing him toward the box horse, and he jumps over it without realizing what he has done. She then calls a Lemures in an attempt to take his Dream Mirror, but Sailor Moon destroys the Lemures. Kyusuke wins first place in the athletic meet, after successfully jumping the box horse. In episode 157, he befriends a boy from his class named Hiroki, and together, the two manage to make a bicycle with wings, and successfully fly it. His final appearance is in the SuperS Special, episode #3 - ChibiUsa no Bouken! Kyoufu, Kyuuketsuki no Yakata (ChibiUsa's Adventure! The Dreaded Vampire Castle), which is based on ChibiUsa's Picture Diary #1. He accompanies ChibiUsa and Momoko to Lyrica Hubert's house to take her school work, as she has missed several days. They are all very frightened, as Lyrica is suspected of being a vampire. When they arrive, the girl tells them that she is not a vampire at all. Momoko asks to use the restroom, and Lyrica offers to show her the way. After some time, Kyusuke and ChibiUsa decide that Momoko is taking too long, and go to look for her. The discover Lyrica drinking the young girl's blood! Lyrica transforms into a vampire, and Kyusuke jumps in front of ChibiUsa to protect her, but is knocked unconscious. He is later revived, and this is the last we see of Kyusuke. Kyusuke's seiyuu is Daisuke Sakaguchi.



MANGA


click for larger version Kyusuke is a one of ChibiUsa's classmates in class 4-1 at Juuban Elementary School. He is argumentative and often picks fights with other students. His older sister is Kotono Sarashina, one of Rei's classmates at T*A Private Girls' School. Kotono makes him a Sailor V pin. Kyusuke's house is a soba shop, and soba is his favorite food. Although he often teases ChibiUsa, he actually likes her very much, even giving her a Sailor Moon pin. In ChibiUsa's Picture Diary #1, Volume 05, he goes with ChibiUsa, Sorano, and Momoko to Lyrica Hubert's house to take her school work, as she has missed several days. They are all very frightened, as Lyrica is suspected of being a vampire. When they arrive at her house, Lyrica awakens as a vampire and wants to drink their blood. Sailor V and Sailor Moon quickly appear to rescue the group. In ChibiUsa's Picture Diary #2, Volume 10, some girls who like him put his picture in their Sailor Moon watches. Kyusuke tells Sorano that physical strength is more important for a man to have than financial strength. He makes a similar small appearance in ChibiUsa's Picture Diary #3, Volume 15.
