Kenji Tsukino

ANIME & MANGA

Kenji Tsukino is Usagi and Shingo's father, and Ikuko's husband. He and his family live in a two-story home in Tokyo. He is completely unaware that his daughter is a Sailor Senshi. He is very friendly and easy-going, and has good relationships with the members of his family. He works a lot and cannot cook, although he does try to help out around the house by doing such tasks as shopping for groceries. He is very protective of his family, and will often put himself in danger to protect them. He can sometimes be over-protective of Usagi, especially when it comes to boys. He feels that Mamoru is too old to be with Usagi, and that Umino would be a much better match for her.

Kenji makes his first anime appearance in episode 002. In episode 022, he reveals that he is a magazine reporter and photographer when he attends a dinner party at the Diamond Kingdom embassy, which is subsequently attacked by the Dark Kingdom.

Kenji's seiyuu is Yuji Machi.

Did You Know?

Kenji is named after the real-life father of Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon.
In episode 040, Kenji reveals that he and his wife met at the hot springs resort that appears in that episode.

PGSM

Kenji Tsukino is never actually seen on camera during Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. He is referred to, and he calls from time to time. He works as a photographer for a newspaper. In the Special Act, he is finally seen sobbing at Usagi's wedding, where Ikuko tells him to get a better look at her. He lives with his family in a two-story house located at 4-20.
