Between Exam Battles #2 and #3, Naoko Takeuchi wrote a short commentary about the North American version of Sailor Moon. She stated that she was happy to see that Sailor Moon has spread internationally, but that she hated the North American dolls. She said that the noses and mouths are spaced too far apart, making them look like they're in their 50s. She even included pictures of her depictions of the dolls!! The only one that she thought was satisfactory is the Queen Beryl doll.
