Original Design


Current Design 		The image on top is from the Materials Collection. It is an early drawing of what Naoko Takeuchi originally envisioned Sailor Jupiter's costume to be like. The image on bottom is from Artbook I. It is Sailor Jupiter's outfit as it was determined to permanently look, and as we see it today.

Differences:
  Hair - originally proposed to be green in her transformed state. It was in a ponytail, but didn't have her signature ponytail holder with two green balls.

  Earrings - her lightning rod came from her earrings rather than her tiara. Later we got those cute rose earrings we know and love.

  Mask - hmm, seems like Naoko-sama had an obsession with masks! All of the senshi were originally proposed to have masks of some sort that were unique to them (Sailor Mercury's was her visor).

  Outfit - VERY different from what we see today. Most obviously, it is in two pieces, a top and a bottom, with her entire stomach showing. The collar is blue with a single black stripe (later, it would be green with three white stripes), and a green raised collar around her neck. There are buckled straps around her shoulders. The skirt has its V waist, similar to what was to come later, but it has what appear to be yellow feathers around the top.

  Gloves - The gloves come up and over her elbows originally, much different from how they would later develop to come only below her elbows (like the ones worn by the other senshi). They had a blue band around the top with a Jupiter symbol on it.

  Bows - the front bow looks quite different from the bows we usually see on the senshi - it is a thinner ribbon. Instead of a brooch, she also has a Jupiter symbol. Her back bow is also made of a thinner ribbon, but it is also longer.
